The open space which is situated circular around the basketball stadium is divided
into an entrance square, a landscape park as well as areas for parking. The entrance square, with its generous width, is able to absorb and disperse streams of visitors on sport events. A loose tree roof is the main theme and creates a playful pattern of light and shade on the surface. Generously designed water basins mirror the architecture and assign the transition to the grandstand areas. A scenic park belt surrounds the stadium to the back. Leisure activities and recreational exercises take place here.
Gently rolling paths, tracks for skaters and cyclists as well as playgrounds and water swales are imbedded in a grove-like planting and connect to the local recreation system of Dongguan.
